Well at least we have our memories
In our human hearts, in our human brains
Collectively remembering when the women reigned.
They were fierce, yet kind
How they led with grace
Making peace on Earth for the human race.
And the trees grew tall
There was food for all, there was food for all.
There were circles formed
There were spirals danced
There were babies born with more than half a chance.
And her breasts were full
She could feed a soul, she could feed us all.
You may think I’m a fool
Like I idealize
Women in power, a world through their eyes
But what have I got to lose?
What have I got to lose
But my patriarchy blues?
Matrilocal, Matrifocal, Matri-
Woman, she wise.
Survival of the fittest don’t keep us alive.
With history that’s measured by the wars we’ve been through
And Herstory that’s missing
What’s a world like ours to do?
